In short
Deliver your videos as MP4 (H.264), at 1080 × 1920 for vertical, in a clear shared folder with one file per version and explicit names. Add a short summary message, state how many revision rounds are included, and send the invoice at delivery.
Formats to export
| Use | Ratio | Recommended resolution |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok, Reels, Shorts, Stories | 9:16 | 1080 × 1920 |
| Instagram and Facebook feed | 4:5 | 1080 × 1350 |
| Square | 1:1 | 1080 × 1080 |
| YouTube, website | 16:9 | 1920 × 1080 |
Export as MP4 (H.264), 30 frames per second, AAC audio. Keep key text away from the edges: social media interfaces cover the top, bottom and right side of the screen.
Naming and organising files
A clear file name avoids mixing up versions:
brand_product_v1_hook1_9x16_captions.mp4
brand_product_v1_hook2_9x16_captions.mp4
brand_product_v1_hook1_9x16_notext.mp4
- One shared folder per collaboration, with a subfolder per delivery.
- Versions without captions and without music if they are in the quote.
- Raw footage only if it was sold as an add-on.
The delivery message
Hi Lea, here are the 2 videos and 3 hooks: [folder link].
As agreed in the quote, one revision round is included per video: feel free to send me your feedback by Friday. I've attached invoice INV-2026-014, payable within 15 days.
Thanks for this collaboration!
Handling revisions
- Ask for all feedback at once, grouped by video and with the exact timestamp ("at 0:12").
- Tell apart a change (trimming, changing a caption) from a change of concept, which is a new video.
- Beyond the included rounds, give the price of a change before doing it.
These rules are set from the quote: see UGC quote template.
After delivery
Log the invoice due date and the end of the usage rights in your tracking. A few weeks later, ask how the video performed: a good result is the best argument for a new order and for your portfolio. For payment, see UGC invoice.
Common questions
What format should you deliver a UGC video in?
Usually an MP4 (H.264) at 1080 × 1920 for vertical 9:16, with a captioned version and, if agreed, a version without text.
Should you deliver the raw footage of a UGC video?
Only if it's in the quote. Raw footage lets the brand cut other versions: it's charged as an add-on.
When should you send the invoice for a UGC video?
At delivery, with the link to the files. If a deposit was paid, the final invoice deducts it.
